Steve Billot
Steve is an independent consultant who works with owner managed businesses.
Having been the Practice Manager and then Joint Managing Partner of a mid-tier accountancy firm, he understands the real-world issues of running a business hands-on.
He specialised in conducting business reviews on behalf of lenders, management and shareholders. He has led over 1,000 formal business reviews during his career and has worked across almost all sectors. He was the National Head of a mid-tier accountancy firm’s business review team before setting up his own consulting business in 2015.
He is a visiting lecturer at the Bayes Business School, Centre for Charity Effectiveness where he lectures on their Masters Programme looking at the issues and challenges facing the charity and not for profit sector.
In the last few years, he has acted as the interim FD at a motorway infrastructure company, a house builder, a pub chain, a transport company (working with the second, third and now fourth generation of management) as well as advising numerous professional service organisations and many charities from national names to local groups.
His wide-ranging experience leads him to now work both as a non-executive and undertaking advisory roles for a wide range of businesses. After over 40 years of learning from others he now enjoys sharing the lessons and helping others to grow and develop their businesses.
