Nigel Smith

Nigel Smith has spent over 30 years working as an independent finance and business consultant, engaging with and building long-term relationships with many CEOs in the manufacturing and marketing sectors.

His expertise in working with SME businesses has been enhanced by his experience delivering specific compliance projects for several corporate entities. By applying the disciplines gained in the corporate world to the SME environment, he has helped businesses achieve sustainable growth and consistently outperform their competitors.

A ten-year period lecturing at a West Midlands business school has further developed his ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals — breaking down the myths of finance and business and helping others achieve their ambitions. As part of a strong management team, Nigel successfully launched, developed, and ultimately sold a £24 million medium-sized business to capital investors. He now believes it is time to share his expertise through a board trustee role — helping to guide and support companies in achieving and maximising their ambitions.

Nigel is married with two grown-up children who are both forging successful careers in the business world, much to their father’s delight. He has played football and cricket at senior levels and enjoys the teamwork and camaraderie of successful teams. These days, golf fulfils his continuing passion for sport
